“I have a Dream”  Martin Luther King

Martin Luther King Jr’s “I Have a Dream” speech is one the most famous speeches in American history today. It was a speech that was written to hit its listeners and really motivate future readers to come. It was delivered at the March in Washington on August 28, 1963. A march that rallied up a quarter million people. A movement to fight for black people’s civil rights, to fight for their jobs and freedom, to demand an end to segregation, and many other civil rights that were unfairly taken from them. It was a speech written to inspire and change the lives of us black African American. To remind us that we need to fight for our rights because if we don’t, who will?
In the speech MLK jr. talked about lots of different historical context that plays into factor of what he said in the speech. Many historical movements have fought for different things in American history but yet the”nigros”were still not free. His speech reminded them of the racial segregation that was still going on even thought they were free. His speech was used to fight for equality, to fight for the rights that have been taken from them just because of their colors of skin. They were looked at and treated horrible but they chose to fight for the future generations to come.
In the speech, the first sentence of the story we got a view of the kind of man he was. He said that he’ll change history, he knew that the gathering he held that day will impact the world without even seeing the future. He knows the impact and power that the words he uses will have on the quarter million people listening there. He knows that his words will change the world. That his impact is one that needs to be studied because he knows what their gathering there will do to the world. How his speech will result in so many new positive things that will change to better the daily lives of African Americans.
Martin Luther King Jr speech was primarily given for all sorts of different types of people. His first targeted audience was the African Americans who were dealing with these problems. He wanted to inspire and give them hope that they will make it out of this alive if they work together to accomplish their goals. The second group of people are the whites that are at the center of their problems and the villains behind their worldly troubles. The people who stripped them of their natural born rights as citizens of America. The third people were the whites who supported their civil rights movement. They were the ones that have a straight connection between but the whites who were at fault. And finally any other person in the world that is also struggling because of a ground of people and need hope to fight for their rights.
In conclusion MLK Jr. was given the gifted opportunity to give one of the greatest speeches of all time to inspire and give hope to the public. To inspire us and give us hope in our lives.
